State settles suit for underpayment of hospitals
Obtained favorable settlement resulting in payment of $9.18 million to Bennett Bigelow & Leedom clients. The lawsuit, brought by eight hospitals against the Washington Department of Social and Health Services, accused the Department of underpaying the hospitals for services rendered in the hospitals distinct-part psychiatric units to beneficiaries of the Washington State Medically Indigent and General Assistance Unemployable payment programs. David Robbins and Lisa Dobson Gould represented the hospitals.
