Lawsuit against University of Washington dismissed
Bennett Bigelow & Leedom obtained summary judgment dismissal of major portions of a civil rights suit filed by ex-University of Washington softball coach Teresa Wilson against the University. Wilson claimed that her removal in December 2003, in the wake of state, federal and internal investigations into the activities of a former team doctor and trainer, constituted sex discrimination and violations of her due process rights. United States District Court Judge James Robart granted the University's motion for summary judgment on these claims, finding that Wilson had not rebutted the University's stated reasons for dismissal and that her due process rights were not violated. Mike Madden and Noelle Jackson represented the University.
