Linnea J. Spens

Linnea’s practice at BB&L focuses on medical malpractice defense.  As a board-certified general surgeon who practiced at a high-level care center prior to obtaining her Juris Doctorate, Linnea brings a truly unique perspective to the firm and to our clients. She is passionate about providing healthcare to underserved communities, having worked at critical access hospitals on the Navajo reservation, and providing healthcare at satellite clinics and free-standing operating rooms in Guatemala.  It was through these work experiences that she was exposed to a broad range of health care issues in a variety of rural and urban settings. Her prior surgical experience includes surgical oncology, thoracic surgery, colorectal surgery, breast surgery, foregut surgery, hernia repair, biliary tract surgery, trauma surgery, and limited vascular surgery. This distinctive combination of law and medicine make Linnea a natural fit for medical malpractice defense.
