Onnaedo N. Nwankwo
Associate
Onnaedo is an associate whose practice focuses on the representation of healthcare providers in medical malpractice and healthcare-related litigation. Onnaedo brings a distinctive perspective to her practice, combining legal advocacy with more than a decade of firsthand clinical and healthcare operations experience.
Before practicing law, Onnaedo built an extensive career in perioperative nursing, working in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers nationwide. Her clinical experience spans a broad range of surgical specialties, including pediatrics, cardiovascular surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, and general surgery. She also served nursing leadership roles overseeing operating room staffing, patient flow, and emergent clinical needs. This experience allows Onnaedo to approach healthcare matters with an understanding not only of the applicable legal issues, but also of the clinical decision-making, interdisciplinary communication, and operational realities underlying patient care.
Onnaedo earned her J.D. from Seattle University School of Law, where she served as Managing Editor of the American Indian Law Journal and President of the Health Law Society. While in law school, she externed with the Washington State Department of Health and Northwest Justice Project’s Medical-Legal Partnership. She later earned an LL.M. in Health Law from the University of Houston Law Center, with coursework focused on medical malpractice, healthcare transactions, regulatory compliance, and FDA law.
